Temperament Assessment done by Aiden Lundy @ Really good pets LLC
Kingston shows no food guarding at this time. He shows signs of being a lower energy puppy. No instinctual retrieve is detected at this time. He shows interest in unfamiliar humans and just needs some extra time to warm up to them. Kingston interacted with sudden stimuli very slowly or not at all. He did better with interacting with most sudden stimuli after being encouraged to do so by the human during the assessment. Kingston shows good handler focus and oftentimes looked to the human during the assessment when something happened, like when his food bowl was taken away after eating out of it or after the human tossed a toy that he was interacting with. He did not follow the human around the room during the assessment, however. When stressed, Kingston will move away or remain still to observe stimuli. If encouraged by the human to interact with stressful stimuli before he’s ready, he will become more animated. Kingston will need some help during his socialization phase and would benefit from being shown what to do and to take things slowly when he is unsure. No lure/prey drive is detected at this time. Some minimal toy drive exists. Interest in food is mid to high. Kingston was easy to lure into a sit, even though he did so slowly. Kingston accepts human handling at this time but may need some help to become more comfortable with it.
