Finley: Finley is very appeasing to people, but may need some initial help during human socialization. He shows handler interest, but in a slightly submissive fashion. He does not initiate contact with new people but is interested in them once the human initiates contact. When he was unsure of what to do during certain situations, he would often seek the human out and place his feet on them, and would give appeasing kisses. He seemed more driven by human interaction and attention than toys and food, though food lure test and food bowl test indicate some moderate interest in food. He shows some signs of easy physical handling. He may need some help adjusting to sudden loud noises, though his coping skills with new situations looks promising. No instinctual retrieve is found at this time, but seems handler focused enough to learn a retrieve. Food bowl test currently shows no signs of food guarding.
The above assessment has been done to test puppies current state of being able to adapt and cope with nuance people, situations, surfaces, sounds and daily household items. This assessment can help determine a type of personality but obviously all puppies need training and various exposures especially socialization. We always would love your updates on puppies and please ask us any questions about behavior and management. Really Good Pets is a dog/puppy Trainer we will attach info in puppy go home bags.
My opinion on Finley’s test, Pretty spot on and I haven’t seen a huge change like a couple of other pups. Finley w/as overlooked until 4 weeks when it became clear that him being vocal (whining) was actually because he had something to say. He still will be vocal time to time, but he uses it wisely. Fin along with about half of the others will cry to go outside and potty but he was one of the first. Finley really does want all your attention and I find it funny that he is not food driven as in “treats for tricks” because he is such a chunk. He eats good but as far a training he just rather have praise and kisses. Finley will make such a wonderful companion for any family type; I do think he would love to have kids and or other dogs in his ideal home.
At 8 weeks Finley goes to the door to potty. With every puppy you will need to teach the proper door to go to and place to potty. Crate training has been harder for Fin I’m working with him daily and he is becoming more relaxed. Finley just loves to be with us

I’m going to brings Fins price down we are @ nine weeks and even though he does do much better in his crate I just feel like he doesn’t have as much confidence as the other puppies. He is an absolutely beautiful boy, and he will I know be less anxious when he has his own family, he just needs to have more one on one i think to build more confidence and security! Him coming from such a big litter I think has been harder on his personality, I do my best to give every pup attention and i just notice Finley needs more. I dont see this being a down fall on him as a dog other than I would love to see him go to a home that can give him more time and attention. He can grow out of his crate anxiety, but I will be honest and say I just want the best for him and will be a bit pickier on how much time a family can spend with him! Thank you for reading all of this and making sure you could be or not be the right fit for Finley he is such a sweet boy.
