I have such a huge vision for our breeding program, not in volume but in quality of puppies we can provide for families!

Brian and I have talked about breeding dogs for years, but we talked about bird dogs or German Shepards. Germans had always been my favorite dog breed. We thought it would be father down the road if we ended up having a breeding program. 4 years ago we were just searching for family pet, my heart was drawing me to rescue and sadly after 3 scary situations with our kids we started looking for a “Family Friendly” breed because a German wasn’t going to work. I know some German Shepards are fabulous as family dogs but we sadly had to give ours away because he completely changed when we had our son, I couldn’t go through that again. I started looking at Doodles which for me was difficult because I came from a family that raised purebred dogs toy mini dogs. To pay for a mix breed that wasn’t in a shelter was almost insane to me……. and here we are!

I still hadn’t thought about breeding yet and wasn’t sure about breeding a mix breed but when Mavis was 2, we talked about another dog, and I wanted another doodle. This is when my eyes were opened, and I saw from even breeders that I thought I could trust that the parent dogs were not being loved and living a life as a happy dog. This really bothered me and broke my heart. I know to a lot of breeder’s dogs are the business and breeding stock, but I hated seeing it. So, I decided it was time and I would do things a lot differently that a large percentage of doodle breeders. Good breeders are out there but do your research!

  1. We love our dogs! They are family they live in our home and share all of our spaces. They go places with us and play like crazy with our kids.

  2. We use guardian homes; our guardian homes take the puppy at 10 weeks and that is the family’s pet. It ensures that all of our parent dogs get the life they deserve with all the love they deserve.

  3. We health test and genetic test! This is a huge important part of our program. We are working on creating very specific puppies with non-shedding coats that are easier to manage that 80% of doodles. We want to be able to predict very specific temperaments for families with small children, elders that need a calm and loving companion as well as service dogs. I also am very focused on breeding a few hunting lines which will have its own specifics. No matter what the type of litter all I’m trying to create they all need a clean bill of health with tested parents, hips, elbows, cardio, clear blood panels & we are adding eyes.

a).Our parents are deeper generations and with genetic testing we can actually get a non-shedding coat for the entire litter, not just guess at birth who will shed and who won’t. This of course is very important along with manageability.

b).We have merles in our breeding program a breeder of merles cannot roll the dice and hope the parent isn’t a cryptic merle.

c).Carriers, some dogs will carry one mutated gene that will never effect them or offspring unless bred with another carrier of the same mutated gene. We will not breed a dog without genetic testing to be sure we are producing healthy puppies.

  4. We are open and honest about what we see in every puppy during their early life! I don’t know of any breeder that prices each puppy for temperament and behavior, but I truly wanted to start something knew. there are wonderful breeders that have a majority of puppies with fabulous temperament because they have worked hard and over time selected parents that all have a wonderful temperament. These breeders are hard to come by for sure! Even though I have 10 plus years of experience in breeding I am starting fresh in my crossbred breeding program. For this reason, I wanted to be able to match each puppy with the perfect home in a very different way. I have a starting price for all puppies in every litter that will depend on those specific parents by their coat type, temperament and Skills. Every puppy needs training especially an intelligent puppy. When reading over puppy traits do not be discouraged all puppies will be puppies I tell personality traits because each person has a harder behavior to handle or train. We offer a discount on Baxter and Bella lifetime membership to online training. Any puppy needs structure just like a child.

  5. WE DO NOT OVER BREED OUR DOGS!! I can’t explain the disappointment myself and many others have in learning the true life of a lot of breeding dogs. Fortunately, I think a lot of people are asking more questions of their breeder and searching for someone that has the parent’s life experience at a high value in their program. We care about the longevity of our parent dogs, they are our family members or family members to our guardians, so we limit the amount of each mothers litters by how many puppies they have or how they carry. a mother that has large litter sizes will have only 1-4 litters a mother that has smaller litter sizes can have up to but no more than 6 litters. mothers are spayed and retire to live happy healthy lives!

  6. We are with you for the life of your puppy! We hope that we will become your breeder and we make sure to be here for any question or concern you may have! We know that as an ethical breeder when we allow puppies to be born, we are responsible for finding a perfect home and be there even if life happens and we need to take a puppy back. We always hope the family that first takes our puppies will be their forever home but if for any reason we will help rehome or take puppy back and rehome puppy.
